Odoo CSV Image Uploader

INTRODUCTION


Odoo CSV Image Uploader module allows the Odoo user to upload images to products in Odoo using a CSV file. The Odoo user can add the image to a product form in Odoo through the image name or image URL.

The Odoo user can add/modify the product image. The module also allows the user to add product extra images and website product category image.

Images for multiple products can be added/updated simultaneously using a single CSV file.

INSTALLATION


1.) Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive the link to download the zip file of the module.

2.) Extract the file on your system after the download finishes. You will be able to see a folder named- ‘csv_image_uploader’.

3.) Copy and paste this folder inside your Odoo Add-Ons path.

4.) Now, open the Odoo App and click on the Settings menu. Here, click on Activate the Developer Mode.

5.) Then, open on Apps menu and click on ‘Update Modules List’.

6.) In the search bar, remove all the filters and search ‘csv_image_uploader’.

7.) You will be able to see the module in the search result. Click on ‘Install’ to install it.

WORKFLOW


Preparing the zip file

1.) Only one type of product image can be uploaded via one CSV file. Create a CSV file on your system.

2.) The CSV file must contain the following three columns to upload the images; ID (product Id), (name) name of the product and image (image title or URL).

3.) If you are using the image title in the image column, make a folder titled- ‘images’ and add those images to this folder. The title of the images in the CSV file should match with the actual title of the corresponding image in the ‘images’ folder.

4.) To upload images through URL just mention the correct URLs for those images in the CSV file.

5.) Once you have created the CSV file and folder, compress both of them together into a single zip file titled- ‘product’.

6.) In Odoo, go to website >> images uploader >> upload image. Here choose the type of image you wish to upload or modify for products.

7.) Click on upload the file tab and choose the zip file.

8.) Click on upload now.

9.) The images are updated in the product forms.

10.) Now go to history submenu under image uploader. Here you can see the list of upload operations and their status.

11.) Click on any record to open it. Here you can see the details of uploaded images.
