Event Manager for Shopware 6

Event Manager for Shopware6 a brilliant plugin that displays and manages your e-commerce store events in the calendar. The merchants can add multiple numbers of events and can set them for days, months and years. The customers can view the event details by clicking on the scheduled date of that event. This is a very useful module to display information about appointments and upcoming events.

Installation

Shopware provides two ways to upload the plugin to the server.

Installation using commands

Customers will get a zip folder, and they have to extract the contents of this zip folder on their system. After extracting the WebkulEventManager folder, the customer needs to transfer this custom > plugins on the server, as shown in the image below:

After the successful installation, you have to run these commands in the Shopware root directory.


1 – Go to your Shopware installation root directory and run this command –

php bin/console plugin:install WebkulEventManager

2 – To activate the plugin run this command –

php bin/console plugin:activate WebkulEventManager

Manual Installation

For the manual installation of the plugin follow the steps as mentioned below:

Step 1: In the Shopware6 Backend go to plugin manager by navigating to Settings > System > Plugins.

Step 2: Just after clicking on the Plugins, the My plugins page will appear. The existing plugins are visible here. 


Click on the Upload plugin to add a new plugin to the list. Select the zip folder of the plugin which has to be updated.


Step 3: After thatthe recently uploaded plugin will be visible on the top of the list of plugins in My plugins page. 


Further, in the newly added plugin, two actions can be performed which are: Install and Delete. The admin will install the plugin by clicking on the Install option in the dropdown.


Once the plugin gets installed the success message will popup saying “Your plugin has been installed.”


Step 4: After the installation, the admin will activate the plugin by turning the radio button ON.

After the installation process and plugin configuration if the Event Manager icon option is not visible at the left menu grid then run this command to clear the cache:

php bin/console cache:clear


Backend – Workflow

After the successful installation of the module, the admin will navigate to the Event Manager>>Create New Events.

To create a new event click on the Create New Event and a new page will open up. There you will put the details regarding the event like – Event Name, Date for the event and Description of the event.

Then click save on top to save this event as shown below in the screenshot.

FrontEnd – Workflow

After the admin has configured the events the beautiful calendar showing the events gets displayed at the frontend.

On the right side of the Shopware6 frontend, there will be Button Event click on that.


After a customer clicks on an event you can view the event date as shown below.

Then on the front-end, the events created for the current month will appear on the calendar as shown below.


Customers can click-in on the date with the event to check the description for that event as shown below.
