Installation
Firstly, the user will get a zip file which first of all needs to be uploaded in the “Add New” menu option in the WordPress admin panel.
Furthermore, log in to your account panel and under the Dashboard hover your mouse over the “Plugins” menu option.
After that, tap on the Sub-Menu, and then select the “Add New” option.
Next, you will see an option on the top of your page that is “Upload Plugin”, click the option to upload the zip file.
After clicking on the “Upload Plugin” option, below that you will see a button “Choose File”.
Now click on the button to browse for the zip file as per the snapshot below.
After browsing the file, click the “Install Now” button to install the plugin as per the snapshot.
Now when the plugin is installed correctly, you will see the success message and an option to activate the plugin. After that, click on “Activate Plugin” to activate the installed plugin.
General Settings
After the installation of this module, the admin can configure the module by navigating through Age Verification> General Settings.
Above all, By using the general settings, the admin can enable or disable this module.
After enabling the module the admin can set the Required minimum Age for the age group verification. Certainly, this required minimum age is used as the global age verification.
Note: This module allows the admin to enter the age between 1 to 100 not more than that.
Age verification method: Here the admin selects the age verification method from the dropdown.
There are three types of age verification methods as:
- Ask user to enter Date of Birth: In this method, the user needs to enter Date of Birth for the verification of the age.
- Using Checkbox: Here the user needs to click on the checkbox for age verification.
- Using Yes No button: In this method, the user needs to click on the yes or no button for the age verification.
Checkbox Message: Here the admin will mention the message which will appear after the checkbox.
Enable Restriction for:
Shop Page: Click on the checkbox to enable the restriction for the shop page.
All Products: Click on the checkbox to enable the restriction for all products.
All Categories: Click on the checkbox to enable the restriction for all categories.
Logged In User Need To Provide Their Age: Select yes to use age restriction for logged in user.
Error URL: Here the admin will enter the URL where the user will be redirected if he/she doesn’t belong to the verified age group.
After configuring the general settings click on the Save Change button to save the changes.
Content Settings
After the general settings, the admin needs to configure the content settings according to the Age Verification Method.
Popup:
Title: Firstly the admin needs to enter the Popup Title for the age verification pop up.
Title Color: Once the admin has entered the popup title then he/she needs to select the popup title color.
Content Title: After that enter the popup content title based on the Age Verification Method.
Content Title Color: Similarly the admin can select the popup content title color.
Enter Button:
Text: Here the admin needs to write the text for the Enter Button.
Text Color: Select the color of the enter button text.
Background Color: Select the color for the background of the enter button.
Leave Button:
Text: Here the admin needs to write the text for the Leave Button.
Text color: Select the color for the leave button text.
Background color: Select the background color for the leave button.
Leave Button URL: Here the admin will enter the URL where the customer will get redirected if he/she clicks on the leave button.
Error Message: Here the admin needs to enter the error message which will appear when the user failed to validate his/her age.
Note: This message will be shown only when the Error URL is empty.
Extra Content: Here the admin needs to enter the extra text content regarding the age verification.
After configuring the content settings click on the Save Change button to save the changes.
Layout Settings
After configuring the content settings the admin needs to configure the Layout Settings for the age verification pop up.
Window Popup Width: Here the admin enters the width for the popup window.
Popup Logo: This will appear on the top of the popup.
Background Color: This background color will appear if the background image is not uploaded.
Popup Content Background Color: Select the color for the background of the popup content.
Border Color: Select the color for the borderline.
Border style: Select the style for the border from the dropdown options.
Popup Background Image: Using this the admin can add or remove the popup background image.
Note: The image dimension should be greater than equal to 1024 X 991.
Add Image For Restricted Products: Using this the admin can add or remove the image for the restricted products for a particular age group.
Restricted Product Message: Enter the message for the restricted products.
After configuring the layout settings click on the Save Change button to save the changes.
Product Restriction
After configuring the module the admin can add age verification for particular products.
Also, the admin can add a new product and restrict that product for a particular age group by navigating through Products> Add New> Age Verification.
Likewise, the admin can edit the previously made products and restrict them for a particular age group.
Category Restriction
The admin can also add age verification to the particular category. And as a result of it, all the products under that category can only be viewed by a particular age group of customers.
Also, the admin can add age verification only to the existing categories by navigating through Products> Categories> Edit the particular category> Add Age Verification.
Also for restricting a new category, the admin can add a new category and then click on the edit button to add the age verification to it.
Store Restriction
In the front end, when the customer clicks on the shop button then a popup will raise if the admin has selected Enable Restriction For Shop Page from the backend.
Likewise, the same popup will raise in the case of guest users.
Also, this popup entirely depends on the Age Verification Method selected by the admin from the backend.
Similarly, the customer needs to verify the age again if products are restricted.
Similarly, if the particular category is restricted for the particular age group.
Then, in that case, the customer needs to verify his/her age to view the products which come under that category.
Conclusion
Therefore this module allows the admin to restrict the particular age group customers to view the products, their category and even to enter the shop page.
Moreover, the admin gives the link to the other website on the leave button. In short, the customer will be redirected to the other website if he/she presses the leave button
Also, if the customer does not belong to the same age group then he/she will be redirected to the admin defined URL.
