Overview:

Voice Recognition Technology is becoming popular in recent years. This technology makes our work in a lesser time than ever. It generally produces words as fast as they are spoken, which is generally much faster than a person can type. As we have noticed that most of the queries in a mobile are “Voice Search”. More and more voice-activated devices are hitting the market, and voice technology is continuing to mature. To provide your eCommerce site with the functionality to search based on voice, “CS-Cart Voice Search” is used.

This remarkable add-on allows your customer to search anything on the website just by speaking on microphone instead of typing keywords manually. Hence, this add-on has a voice recognition system that recognizes the customer’s voice and converts it into the text in the search box. Therefore this makes the search easier and faster.

Installation And Configuration:

Step1: When you’ll download the “CS-Cart Voice Search”, you’ll get one zip files and the install.txt file. Read it carefully and follow it. After that install the zip file.  Step2: Configure the settings of the add-on. Set the “Icon Color”, “Background Color”, and “Border Color” of the speaker.

Set Language option will show the list of languages that are enabled on your store (You can set only those language that is enabled on your site. Here you can see language “English” and “French” in “Set Languages”, as it is enabled on your website).Note: Voice recognition technology support various languages for recognition of the voice. In the above screenshot, the complete list of the languages that support voice recognition is given. You can set the language that is enabled on your website. In case you have set the language that is enabled on your site but doesn’t support voice recognition, then you have the option to choose the language from the whole list of supported language.

Front End View :

Once you have configured the settings of this add-on, you will see the speaker button on your search box. When a customer clicks on “voice search” button, a pop-up notification appears on the screen asking for microphone access as shown below: Click on “Allow” to allow access to the microphone. At first, the speaker is disabled. Now click on the speaker button to start speaking. After connecting microphone, a customer can speak a keyword which you want to search. A customer speaks a keyword “electronics”, “CS-Cart Voice Search” has typed the keyword in the search box. In search results, you will get all the items that cover the keyword “electronics”.
