Introduction
Have you ever wondered about the authenticity of a bulk order placed on your website? More than often it happens that the big orders turn out to be scams. It can be difficult to locate such orders from a large list. That’s where our current module comes in handy. Odoo GeoIP Location In Orders Module allows you to view the IP address in any order, thus giving you the location from where the order was placed. You can easily sort out customers according to their IP address and analyze the orders like a large number orders placed under different names from the same IP address, to protect against any fraudulent orders.
Features
- It automatically adds a column in the sales order list view showing the IP address for a particular order.
- The admin can also view the Geolocation of the customer ( country, state/city, area, zip code) by simply opening the order(s) placed by that customer.
- The admin can trace if a large number of orders are placed from the same location.
Installation
After buying this app from our Webkul store you will get the link for downloading the zip file. Download it and extract on your system. You will see the “geoip_location”folder. Just copy this app folder inside your Odoo addons path.
Once done, follow these steps:
1.) Go to settings menu and click on Activate the Developer Mode.
2.) Now go to apps menu and Click on ‘Update Modules List’.
3.) Remove the app’s filter and search for the geoip_location key.
4.) Now you will be able to see the module then simply install it.
Once installed, you will be able to handle different functionality as mentioned in module’s workflow.
WorkFlow
Now, let’s take a glance how this module works:
1.) Open ‘Sales’. Here Click on ‘Orders’. Enable List View by clicking on the list view icon.
2.) You will be able to see an additional column displaying the IP address for each order in the system. It’s that easy!!
3.) Now, click on any order to open it. Scroll down a little and you will be able to see the Geolocation of the customer i.e. Country, State(Province), City(county), Zip code and National Flag, irrespective of the address mentioned on the order.
4.) To sort out the orders according to the IP address click once on the ‘Current IP Address’ and this will list the orders together according to their IP addresses. This will help you in identifying if a certain location is used to place a large number of orders.
