Prestashop Block Product

Prestashop Block Product:- Want to display the products on store according to customer’s GEO location!! With this module admin can either allow or block the availability of products according to customer’s IP address or shipping address. Prevent the customers on your site from buying/viewing the product, if product is not available at their IP address or shipping address.

Features

  • Block products on the basis of customer shipping address or IP address.
  • Admin can enable/disable the display of product page.
  • Admin can configured the message which will be displayed on product page when the product is not available at the specific address.
  • Admin can select single or multiple countries to block the product.
  • Admin can select the single or multiple IP addresses to block the product.
  • Customer will be warned by the alert message on the product page.
  • Customer will be able to know the availability of the product in their country.

Installation

Go to the back office->modules->add a new module
Upload zip file of product auction module
Simply search “block product” in the search box then install the module

Configuration

After successful installation, admin need to configure the module.

If admin choose not to display the product detail page to customers then admin do not have to provide any message.

Workflow

After configuring the module, admin will get a new tab in the product add/update page named as “Block Product” to restrict the particular product in single/multiple countries or for single/multiple IPs.

Go to catalog -> add/update product page -> Block Product

  • If disabled, then the product will be available for each and every country and IP addresses.
  • If enabled, then admin can select the country or write the IP address for which the product will not be available depending on the configuration.

Now, there will be different conditions appear according to the settings done by admin-

When admin  choose the blocking of product by customer’s shipping address
  • Admin has enabled the display of product page, in module configuration
  • Admin has selected some countries in “Block Product” for the product.

When registered customer view the product and the shipping address of the customer is from one of the selected countries, then the product will display the configured message.

Note:-  Similarly, the following message will be displayed when the blocking is done by customer’s IP address. In this case, the Ip address of the registered customer is from one of the selected countries.

  • Admin has disabled the display of product page, in module configuration
  • Admin has selected some countries in “Block Product” for the product.

When registered customer view the product and the shipping address of the customer is from one of the selected countries, then the product page will not be available to the customer.

The “add to cart” button will not be available to the customer and when customer click on the product to view the product detail page then customer will be redirected to home page.

Note:-  Similarly, the following message will be displayed when the blocking is done by customer’s IP address. In this case, the Ip address of the registered customer is from one of the selected countries.

  • Admin has enabled the display of product page, in module configuration
  • Admin has selected some countries in “Block Product” for the product.

But, now the customer is not logged-in i.e. store do not have customer shipping address yet. So, customer can continue “add to cart” but after entering the shipping address for the order automatically the cart will get emptied as the product is not available at that address.

When admin choose the blocking of product by customer’s IP address

In the following case, the workflow of the module will differ from blocking done by shipping address.

  • Admin has enabled the display of product page, in module configuration
  • Admin has selected some countries in “Block Product” for the product.

But, now the customer is not logged-in i.e. store do not have customer shipping address yet but store has customer’s IP address. So, customer cannot process the order as the add to cart button will not be displayed and they will get the configured message on the product page.

The cases will depend on the configuration setting and restriction done by the admin for the product.

In this way, admin can easily block the product from the countries as per the customer shipping address or IP address.
